Our Founding and History
Trio Labs was founded in 2015 by entrepreneur and inventor Adam Steege to develop and market RIPL technology. Now a two-time MedTech startup founder with dozens of patents, it was Adam’s experiences at his first company, Agile Endosurgery, that led to the invention of RIPL. While developing a laparoscopic surgical device, the need became clear for a solution to faster and more precise medical device micro manufacturing.
Trio Labs has progressed through nine years of development and numerous patents granted or in process to reach the market, where the company is now making previously impossible parts possible. Customers rely on Trio for everything from prototyping handfuls of parts to production runs of thousands. Soon, our RIPL services will be available for runs of tens of thousands and beyond.

Our Location
Trio Labs is headquartered in Morrisville, near the heart of North Carolina’s Research Triangle region.
This places the company in a geographic region that is home to the largest research park in the United States, three major research universities — North Carolina State University, Duke University, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill — and numerous other technology companies. The vast technical resources and thought leadership in such close proximity make this one of the country’s top areas for technological innovation.
